Kathy Reichs, born in 1950, is a forensic anthropologist and academic whose professional life is the model for the lead character in her novels – Temperence Brennan. Reichs has worked for the Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina and for the Laboratoire de Sciences Judiciaires et de Médecine Légale in Quebec as well as teaching FBI Agents about body recovery and working on identification of WWII remains, remains in a Guatemalan mass grave, and victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
She is certified by the American Board of Anthropology and is on the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Forensic Science.
In addition to her novels, Kathy Reichs has produced many technical papers and books and contributed to many others.
As well as her writing and professional work, Kathy Reichs has worked as a producer for the American hit TV series – Bones.
