S.J. (Steven) Watson was born in Stourbridge in the West Midlands in England in 1971. He studied physics at the University of Birmingham before moving to London. In London he worked in a number of hospitals specialising in the treatment of hearing-impaired and deaf children.
He wrote in his free time until gaining a place on a Novel writing course at the Faber Academy in London. It was here that he wrote his first novel – Before I go to Sleep. The book was published in 2011 and has become an international best seller with the movie rights already snapped up.
Like many others, I am eagerly awaiting another novel after Watson’s brilliant debut.
