John Harvey Profile and Books

John Harvey is a British author of crime fiction who was born in 1938 in London. He studied at the University of London then went on to teach English and Drama. While teaching he studied part time to obtain an English degree and then a Masters degree in American studies.

He has been writing professionally since 1975 and has published over 100 books under various names as well as TV scripts and poetry. The most famous of his novels are from his Charles Resnick series.

He has lived much of his life in Nottingham (where most of his Charlie Resnick novels are based). He currently lives in London with his partner and their daughter.
