David Baldacci Profile and Books

David Baldacci was born in Richmond in 1960, Virginia and has lived in Virginia for most of his life. He studied political science and law and practiced as a lawyer for 9 years.

Baldacci has been a writer for most of his life – starting with short stories as a child, then writing screenplays – all without much success. He wrote his first novel while taking time out from practicing law. ‘Absolute Power’ published in 1996 became an international bestseller.

Since then, Baldacci has written more than 30 adult novels as well as several children’s books. Many of his novels have been international bestsellers and, to date, two of his novels have been made into movies.

Baldacci lives in Vienna, Virginia with wife Michelle and their two children.
