Rebecca Whitney grew up in the small village of Steyning near Brighton. She always wrote, filling many notebooks during her life but never considered writing as a serious career option.
Whitney completed a BA in creative arts, worked in a record company then worked in film eventually becoming a producer.
Motherhood forced a career change for Whitney. Her old career was not compatible with bringing up young children. She completed a creative writing certificate and started work on her first novel. She also returned to Brighton to live and this is where her first novel is based.
The Liar’s Chair was a hugely successful debut novel and Rebecca Whitney is now working on a 2nd novel based in London and already has ideas for a 3rd.
