Candice Fox is an Australian author born in the 1980s. She grew up in Bankstown in Sydney’s western suburbs. Her father was a parole officer and her mother a keen foster carer, so she grew up in a large blended family of siblings and foster siblings. Her introduction to the world of crime came from the real life stories that her father brought home from his job.
Fox was a trouble maker as a teenager and only lasted for a short time in the Royal Australian Navy. She went on to become a high school teacher and continued to study. She was always a writer but received about 200 rejections before finally having a novel published.
Her first two novels Hades and Eden received many awards.
After meeting American author James Patterson (of whom she is a fan) at a party in Sydney, they decided to collaborate on a novel.
When not writing, Fox teaches writing courses at the Australian Writers Centre and the University of Notre Dame in Sydney.
