Renee Knight was born in the UK in 1960. She worked for the BBC directing arts documentaries, but she found the ‘all or nothing’ work hours incompatible with raising a family and quit while her children were young. She wrote scripts for the BBC, then wrote short stories and finally, after completing the Faber Academy novel writing course, tried her hand at novel writing.
Knight’s first novel was rejected by publishers and remains unpublished. Her second novel was ‘Disclaimer’ which started a bidding war. Knight has already sold the film rights. She is now thinking about her next novel, a psychological thriller.
Renee Knight lives in North London with her husband Greg, a TV producer, and two teenage children.
